BSCA Yorkshire and National MTB Championships – just a reminder of the rules for this event which are on the BSCA website. Please pay particular attention to the fact that drop handlebars are not permitted as this is a mtb event and no cross bikes unless you are in the Under 9 or below category. If the younger ones do use a cross bike, they must have straight bars.
RACE INFORMATION
Machines with drop handlebars will not be permitted.
The U11/U13/U15/O15 course is technically demanding and cyclo-cross bikes are not suitable for the terrain. As a result, for safety reasons, cyclo-cross bikes will not be allowed to be used in these age categories. Please ensure your child is capable of riding a technical course for these age categories that includes steep descents, single track and roller coaster terrain.
The judges decision on the suitability of a bike for the U11 etc race is final and if in doubt call/send a picture.
Signing on starts at 10am However, it will close for each age category 30 minutes before each race. E.g. U7’s signing on closes at 10.30am
Children competing in Regional Championships must compete in the events by their own efforts. The course is narrow in places and will be marshalled. Parents are not to run alongside or assist their children except in the U7 category. Parents must not impede the progress of another child nor to help to push their child ahead of any child riding on their own.
